The Three Cauldrons ~ A Living Current Within You
Hello Sister,
You might not have the language for it…
But I have a feeling you’ve felt this before.
The way your energy moves.
How some days feel warm and steady.
How other days feel flat, or scattered, or like everything is sitting in your head.
How sometimes you feel a quiet pull to create…
and other times, even the thought of doing anything feels like too much.
There’s nothing random about this.
There is a rhythm to it.
An intelligence.
One that women have always known, even if we haven’t always had the words for it.
There is an old Irish teaching that speaks to this.
It’s called The Cauldron of Poesy.
It describes three energetic centres within the body.
Three cauldrons.
Not fixed.
Not something you need to “get right.”
But something that moves.
Responds.
Shifts with your life.
And when I first came across this teaching, it didn’t feel like I was learning something new.
It felt like something I already knew… being named.
The first cauldron sits low in your body.
This is your warmth.
Your foundation.
Your sense of being held in your life.
You know when this one is low.
You feel it.
Everything takes more effort.
Your energy dips.
Your capacity softens.
You might find yourself reaching for stimulation… just to get through the day.
Coffee.
Scrolling.
Pushing yourself a little further than your body really wants to go.
Not because you’re doing anything wrong.
But because your system is trying to compensate.
Trying to create energy where there isn’t enough warmth to sustain you.
The second cauldron sits in your heart.
This is your vocation.
Not your job.
Not your purpose in the way the world defines it.
But your creative current.
The things that want to move through you.
The quiet pull to create.
To share.
To express something that feels like you.
You’ve felt this before too.
That moment where something inside you begins to stir again.
After a period where it’s been quiet.
But this cauldron doesn’t force itself.
It waits.
It rises when there is enough warmth beneath it.
The third cauldron sits in your head.
This is motion.
Expression.
Clarity.
The place where things begin to move outward.
Where you speak.
Create.
Take action.
But this is where many women live from.
Trying to think their way forward.
Trying to push themselves into movement…
even when the rest of their system isn’t ready.
And that’s when everything starts to feel disconnected.
Fast.
Overwhelming.
A little bit forced.
These cauldrons are not separate.
They speak to each other.
When your warmth is low, everything else quietens.
When your warmth begins to return, you feel it in your heart.
A stirring.
A soft pull.
And from there… movement becomes possible.
Not forced.
Not rushed.
But natural.
This is how I work with my own energy now.
Not by trying to stay “on” all the time.
But by noticing where I am.
Am I needing warmth?
Am I feeling something begin to stir?
Am I ready to move?
There is no hierarchy here.
No right place to be.
Only awareness.
As we move into April, I’ll be gently working with the Cauldron of Motion.
But not in the way you might expect.
Not pushing.
Not forcing productivity.
But allowing what has been warming… and what has been stirring…
to begin moving outward.
In small ways.
In honest ways.
In ways that feel sustainable in my body.
And if you’re reading this and something is clicking for you…
If you can feel where your energy is sitting right now…
That’s enough.
You don’t need to fix it.
You don’t need to change it.
Just noticing is where it begins.
Inside The Hearth, we move with these rhythms together.
We tend the cauldrons gently.
Not forcing them into balance…
but allowing them to return to it.
Through ritual.
Through reflection.
Through simply having a space where your energy is met as it is.
If you feel the pull to explore this more deeply, you are always welcome to step inside.
Come tend your energy, gently.
From the hearth,
Tash 🌿
